Police have charged two men with a number of dangerous driving and drug-related offences after an alleged stolen vehicle was monitored by police across the Gold Coast and Logan Districts yesterday, April 3.
It will be alleged at approximately 4.30am yesterday, two men broke into a Hamilton Avenue unit complex at Surfers Paradise and stole a Mercedes-AMG.
The vehicle was observed by Polair as it allegedly continued to drive dangerously across the Gold Coast, before coming to a stop in Logan.
It was located just after 12.30pm at a Colwill Crescent property at Wolffdene.
Two men were taken into custody nearby a short time later.
A 30-year-old Wolffdene man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, fail to take reasonable care and precautions in respect of syringe or needle, and possess property suspected of having been acquired for the purpose of committing a drug offence, and two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, and possess utensils or pipes that had been used.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court today, April 4.
A 41-year-old Heritage Park man was issued a notice to appear on one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes that had been used, and possess tainted property.
He is due to appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on May 1.
Police investigations continue in relation to the Hamilton Avenue burglary.
