Two men have been charged after a stealing and pursuit near Griffith, NSW Police say.
About 5.30pm yesterday, a man approaching his property on Rodgers Road, Yenda, noticed a suspicious vehicle leaving the area.
The man then noticed property had been stolen and drove after the vehicle, catching up to it on Beelbangera Road.
Police were contacted and a short pursuit commenced. At the intersection of Scenic Drive and Remembrance Drive the vehicle attempted to turn right, but lost control and came to a stop.
The 26-year-old male driver and 19-year-old male passenger were arrested. The driver failed a roadside breath test.
Inside the vehicle police located property suspected of being stolen during the incident.
At the police station, the driver underwent a breath analysis, allegedly returning a reading of 0.095.
The 26-year-old man was charged with use unregistered vehicle; drive whilst disqualified; unlawfully possess number plates; police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously; drive with middle range PCA; enter inclosed lands; and larceny.
He was refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court today.
The 19-year-old man was charged with enter inclosed lands and larceny.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 22 November 2017.
