Police have charged a man and woman as part of an ongoing investigation into prohibited drug supply in Sydney's south west.
In September 2022, officers attached to Region Enforcement Squad Wetherill Park established Strike Force Jabbarup to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Fairfield and Liverpool areas.
As part of ongoing inquiries, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command searched a 44-year-old man on Nagle Street, Liverpool about 6.10pm on Thursday 30 March 2023. They allegedly located and seized 87.8 grams of methylamphetamine, 5.7 grams or heroin, and $700 cash.
A subsequent search warrant was executed later that day at a unit on Edmondson Crescent, Carramar, where police seized 87.21 grams of methylamphetamine, 12.34 grams of heroin, 3.48 grams of cocaine, 75 x 5 milligram Diazepam tablets, a number of prescribed restricted substances, and $3,250 cash.
The man was charged and remains before the courts.
Following further Investigations, police attended a unit on Edmondson Crescent, Carramar, and arrested the 44-year-old man about 6.15am today (Friday 16 June 2023).
The man was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with:
- Supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity
- three counts of supply prohibited drug >indictable &
- possess prohibited drug
- supply prohibited drug >small &
- possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
- knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
Investigators also attended a home on High Street, Cabramatta, where they arrested a 37-year-old woman.
A search warrant was executed at the Cabramatta home, where police located and seized 205 grams of methylamphetamine, a loaded revolver, a conducted electrical weapon, and $13,695 cash.
The woman was taken to Fairfield Police Station and charged with:
- Knowingly deal with proceeds of crime
- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit
- supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity
- supply prohibited drug >indictable &
- supply prohibited drug
- possess unregistered firearm-pistol
- not keep firearm safely-pistol
- possess unauthorised pistol
The pair were refused bail and attended Fairfield Local Court today, where they were formally refused bail with the man to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Thursday 10 August 2023 and the woman to appear before the same court on Monday 14 August 2023.
Investigations into Strike Force Jabbarup are continuing.
