A man and a teenaged boy have been charged following ongoing investigations into property crime offences in the New England region.
Operation Mulga was established by New England Police District to investigate property-related crimes in the Boggabilla, Mungindi and Moree areas.
Following inquiries, officers attached to New England PD arrested a 34-year-old man about 8am yesterday (Thursday 8 June 2023), following a short foot pursuit from Dingwall Place, Moree.
The man was taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated break enter and steal, one count each of dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception, and steal property in dwelling house, and two counts of fraud. He was also charged with breach of bail.
The man, from Moree, was refused bail to appear before Inverell Local Court today (Friday 9 June 2023).
A short time later, a teenage boy was arrested after attending Moree Police Station He has been charged with an outstanding warrant for the offence of aggravated enter dwelling in company and steal, and be carried in conveyance taken without consent. He's also been charged with breach of bail.
The youth was refused bail to appear before Inverell Children's Court today.
Inquiries by officers attached to Operation Mulga continue.
