Two Injured In Serious Single-vehicle Crash At Bothwell

Police and emergency services responded to reports of a serious single-vehicle traffic crash on Highland Lakes Road, Bothwell about 5pm yesterday.

A white Mitsubishi Challenger 4WD with NSW plates was travelling east out of Bothwell when the driver lost control before coming to rest in a nearby paddock.

The driver of the Mitsubishi 4WD was transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The passenger of the Mitsubishi was also transported to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious injuries.

Highland Lakes Road was closed for about 6 hours to allow emergency services to examine the scene and conduct further inquiries.

Initial investigations indicate that driver fatigue, excessive speed relevant to the conditions and driver inexperience may have been contributing factors in the accident.
