Two Men Charged After $445K Cannabis Bust in Albury

Two men will appear in court today (Monday 15 July 2024) charged with commercial supply of prohibited drugs, following a vehicle stop in the state's south.

About 11.30pm on Friday (12 July 2024), officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol, stopped a van on the northbound lane of the Hume Highway, Mullengandra, approximately 30km south-west of Holbrook, for a random breath test.

During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized 99 bags containing close to 46 kilograms of dried cannabis flower - with an estimated street value of $445,500.

Two men, aged 42 and 43 were arrested and taken to Albury police Station. They were both charged with supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity and possess prohibited drug.

They appeared before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Saturday (13 July 2024) and were refused bail to appear at Albury Local Court today (Monday 15 July 2024).
