Two Men Charged After Central Coast Shopping Centre Brawl

Two men have been charged following an alleged brawl at a shopping centre on the Central Coast earlier this month.

About 7pm Thursday 11 July 2024, police were called to a shopping centre on Bay Village Road, Bateau Bay, following reports a group of young people were allegedly brawling in a food court.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and found the group had left the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Police located and seized a hammer for forensic examination.

Following inquiries, about 11:40am today (Monday 22 July 2024), two men, aged 18 and 20, attended Wyong Police Station and were arrested.

Both were charged with affray.

The 20-year-old was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 23 July 2024).

The 18-year-old was granted conditional bail to appear before Wyong Local Court on Wednesday 21 August 2024.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
