Two Men Charged for Break-In, Drug Offenses in Port Macquarie

Two men have been charged over alleged property theft and drug offences on the state's Mid North Coast.

Proactive Crime Team officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District commenced and investigation, following a break and enter at a business on Hastings Drive, Port Macquarie, on Thursday 28 November 2024.

Following an extensive investigation, about 11am on Tuesday (4 December 2024), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Waugh Street, Port Macquarie.

During the search, officers located and seized property allegedly linked to the break and enter and a Fire and Rescue NSW hose.

A 45-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station.

He was charged with:

  • Two counts of enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence,
  • Larceny value greater than $15000,
  • Larceny value greater than $ 5000 & less than or equal to $15000,
  • Possess prohibited drug, and
  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 8 January 2025.

About 12.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 4 December 2024), officers executed a search warrant at a home on Laguna Place, Port Macquarie.

During the search, officers allegedly located and seized cannabis plants, cocaine, MDMA, steroids, more than $7,000 cash, and property linked to the break and enter.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Port Macquarie Police Station where he was charged with:

  • Two counts supply prohibited drug greater than indictable & less than commercial quantity,
  • Possess prohibited drug, and
  • Deal with property proceeds of crime less than $100000 & greater than $5000.

He was refused bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court today (Thursday 5 December 2024).

Investigations are continuing.
