Two Men Charged in Greater Hobart Burglaries

Two men have been charged in connection to several burglaries and crimes committed in the greater Hobart area over the last two weeks.

Police are continuing to investigate burglaries at small supermarkets in Risdon Vale and Lindisfarne within the past week, where stolen motor vehicles were driven into the stores, significant damage was caused, and property was stolen.

As part of the ongoing investigation, Detectives searched a property at Risdon Vale yesterday and arrested two men allegedly involved in the matters and recovered a stolen motorcycle.

The 23-year-old man and 21-year-old man have been jointly charged with multiple offences including 7x motor vehicle stealing, 4x burglary, 4x stealing, and 5x attempted burglary.

The 21-year-old has also been charged with 3x disqualified driving, 2x evade police (aggravated circumstances), 1x dangerous driving, and 1x reckless driving.

Both men will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court today.

Detectives are continuing to search for a third man involved in the Lindisfarne incident.
