Two men face court over break-in and thefts, SA

Two men have been arrested following a recent crime series across metropolitan Adelaide, according to SA Police.

Police will allege that on Sunday 2 July the two men gained entry to a home at Skye while the occupants were inside and stole valuable jewellery and cash.

The men also allegedly stole two vehicles, a black Mercedes sedan and a Blue Holden utility, from the address. The occupants were not confronted or injured.

Police from the State Tactical Response Group located the stolen blue Holden ute at Wattle Court Elizabeth Vale about 2.40pm on Tuesday 4 July.

At that same time, the stolen black Mercedes was also sighted in the area and was pursued for a short time before being terminated due to safety reasons. The car was found abandoned at Park Terrace, Gilberton a short time later.

Police set up cordons in the area and located the alleged driver at St Peters where he was arrested.

Police also recovered the stolen jewellery from the break-in and returned it to the owner.

A 25-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of theft, two counts of illegal use of a motor vehicle and engaging in a police pursuit. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court yesterday where he was remanded to appear again on 25 July. 18/Y94509, 18/Y94547

Detectives from Eastern Adelaide CIB yesterday arrested a 22-year-old man from Salisbury East for his alleged involvement in the crime series and was charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, two counts of illegal use and three counts of theft. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today. 18/Y95166
