Police have concluded their investigation after two more people have been charged following a brawl at a stadium in Sydney's west over the weekend.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced investigations following reports two people were assaulted during a brawl after a football game at a stadium on Edwin Flack Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park, at 8.15pm on Sunday (6 April 2025).
Members of the public and security intervened and those involved left the scene shortly after.
Police were told a 21-year-old woman was knocked unconscious while a man, also aged 21, was assaulted while trying to protect the woman. They were assisted at the scene by staff until the woman was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment for facial injuries and to undergo further testing; the man did not require hospital treatment.
As a part of an investigation, on Wednesday 9 April 2025, police have released images of eight people who they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Following inquiries, three women – aged 38, 37, 35 – and a 21-year-old man have since been charged before two more people were spoken to police and released without charges.
Following further inquiries, police arrested two men – both aged 21 – in Bankstown today (Friday 11 April 2025).
They were taken to Bankstown Police Station where they were both charged with assault occasioning aggravated bodily harm in company of other(s) and affray.
They were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Saturday 12 April 2025).
