Lottery officials are urging Brisbane residents to check their Saturday Gold Lotto tickets, as two unclaimed prizes totaling $5 million await their rightful owners.
The winning tickets, each worth $2.5 million, were purchased in recent draws and could be sitting unnoticed in someone's wallet or drawer.
One of the division one winning entries was purchased at Nextra Express Chermside, Shop 1192, Westfield Chermside, Gympie Road, Chermside, and was one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4501, drawn Saturday 7 September 2024.
The other division one winning entry was purchased at The Store on Eagle, Ground Floor, Shop 2 Central Plaza Two, Brisbane, and was one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto, draw 4499, drawn Saturday 31 August 2024.
The winning entries are unregistered which means lotto officials have no way of contacting the ticketholders and instead must wait for them to check their tickets and come forward.
The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said two mystery players had most likely gone about their days with no idea they’d each taken home $2.5 million from recent Saturday Gold Lotto draws.
“Imagine going to bed not knowing you’ve won $2.5 million in Saturday Gold Lotto! That’s the reality for two mystery Brisbane players after scoring division one in recent draws,” she said.
“While we’ve been unable to confirm the division one win with the winners, we’re sure that when they check their ticket and discover their news, they’ll be jumping for joy.
“We’re encouraging everyone to check their entries because they might be one of the two newly-minted multi-millionaire we’re searching for!
“If you think you’re holding a very valuable entry, please call The Lott on 131 868 to start the process of claiming your prize.
“This is a great reminder to all lottery players to register your ticket to an online account or players card because if you scored a life-changing prize we could call immediately after the draw with the exhilarating news.”
Nextra Express Chermside owner Shannon Hickey said he and his team were ecstatic to have sold another multi-million-dollar winning entry after selling the $100 million Powerball winning entry last month.
“If we’re not the luckiest store in Brisbane this year, I can’t imagine who could be! We’re so pleased to have sold another division one winning entry to one of our customers,” he said.
“Ever since we’ve sold the mammoth $100 million winning entry in a recent Powerball draw, we’ve had customers come in for a chat and to take a selfie with our poster. It’s been a real buzz!
“We hope our mystery division one winner from the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw checks their ticket and comes forward soon to claim their life-enhancing prize.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4501 on 7 September 2024 were 16, 38, 7, 15, 20 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 41.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4501 – two each in Queensland and Victoria.
