A woman and a child have been injured after a crash in Sydney's south west.
About 5pm yesterday (Tuesday 12 November 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a vehicle mounting the footpath along Old Glenfield Road, Glenfield, colliding with a traffic control signal and injuring an elderly man and a young girl.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrians – aged 72 and 4 – at the scene.
The woman was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition whilst the girl was taken to Westmead Childrens Hospital in a stable condition. Both remain in hospital.
The driver of the vehicle – an 18-year-old man – was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition where he currently remains.
Officers from Campbelltown Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
