Two people have been injured following a crash which has blocked Richmond Road at Marayong.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 9.40pm (Monday 2 September 2024), following reports of a multi-vehicle crash.
Officers attached to Riverstone Police Area Command found a black Honda sedan and a grey Nissan Pathfinder, both travelling towards Blacktown, had collided.
The sedan continued on after the impact, hitting a large gum tree while the SUV came to rest 50m away on the opposite side of the four-lane road.
A female passenger in the sedan has been taken to Westmead Hospital with what police have been told are life-threatening head injuries, while the man driving the sedan is enroute to the same hospital with internal injuries.
Two people travelling in the SUV, a young female learner-driver and a male family member supervising, escaped injury.
Initial inquiries indicate the SUV may have been clipped by the sedan; however, specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) have been called to the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision relevant to this investigation to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
