Two-vehicle Crash - Wetherill Park

A man has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Sydney's south west.

About 11pm yesterday (Sunday 19 May 2024), emergency services were called to Redfern Street, Wetherill Park, following reports a van and truck had been involved in a crash.

On arrival, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command found the driver of the van trapped in his vehicle.

Fire and Rescue NSW worked to free the man before he was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

The truck driver – a 46-year-old man – was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
