Two women have been charged following a brawl at a stadium in Sydney's west over the weekend.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command commenced investigations following reports two people were assaulted during a brawl after a football game at a stadium on Edwin Flack Avenue, Sydney Olympic Park, at 8.15pm on Sunday (6 April 2025).
Members of the public and security intervened and those involved left the scene shortly after.
Police were told a 21-year-old woman was knocked unconscious while a man, also aged 21, was assaulted while trying to protect the woman. They were assisted at the scene by staff until the woman was taken to Concord Hospital for treatment for facial injuries and to undergo further testing; the man did not require hospital treatment.
Following investigations, yesterday (Wednesday 9 April 2025), two women – aged 35 and 37 – attended Auburn Police Station where they were arrested and charged with affray.
They were granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 17 April 2025.
Inquiries are continuing.
