Cricket Victoria is excited to unveil its U16 Female Emerging Players Program for the 2024/2025 season.
"On the back of a National Championships win by Victoria Metro in the U16s competition in season 23/24, we are very much looking to take this momentum forward".
"The talent within these squads was a result of the strong development and commitment of Community and Premier Clubs in what was a successful Country Cup & inaugural Marg Jennings Cup" stated Interim Female Talent Development Manager, Cassandra Brock.
Ira Aery & Indigo Noble achievements go beyond to include the U19s Victorian Squad and Victorian Emerging Program squad, which is a huge credit to themselves and their coaches throughout their short cricket journey.
Annie Taylor, Limansa Thilakarathna and Noura Abdul Qader have also made the U19s Victorian Squads, which is also a great achievement.
Working directly with Cricket Victoria's High Performance Coaching Staff and experienced Premier Cricket coaches, identified players will spend two days a week developing their game technically, tactically, physically and mentally as they prepare for life as an elite cricketer.
Newly appointed T20 Performance Managers Wade Seccombe (Renegades) and Clint McKay (Stars) will also join the team as specialist coaches.
The pre-season program includes training sessions at the CitiPower Centre and MCG with cricket skill development, physical preparation, education and centre wicket scenarios the focus.
Match opportunities will kick off during the September school holidays with matches vs the U16s South Australian Squad.
Victoria's U16 Squads will be Head Coached by former Victoria Women's player Rhiann O'Donnell and National Championship winning coaches Teagan Parker (Head Coach) and Sophie Strickland (Assistant Coach).
The Victorian Country and Metro U16 Teams will then be selected in November ahead of the Cricket Australia National Championships which are set to take place next January.
