UC Law Breaks Into Top 300 World Rankings

Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC) is proud to announce that its Faculty of Law has been ranked for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings by Subject 2025, securing a position in the 251-300 performance band.

This significant achievement underscores UC's commitment to excellence in education and research, according to UC's Acting Tumu Tuarua Rangahau | Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research, Professor Peter Gostomski, who expressed pride in the faculty's accomplishment.

"This new subject ranking is a testament is a testament to the dedication of our Law faculty to impactful research and student success," Professor Gostomski says.

"UC's Faculty of Law is renowned for its fantastic work and dedication to its students," he notes. "Other unique attributes include the Bachelor of Criminal Justice degree, as well as a practical hands-on approach."

In addition to this Subject Ranking milestone, UC has also been placed in the top 100 globally in THE Impact Rankings for 2024. This recognition highlights UC's dedication to partnering with communities to find solutions that respond to their needs and aspirations across the globe.
