The Industry Steering Board for the UK-Ukraine TechBridge met in London on 24 October 2024. The meeting was co-chaired by Ukrainian Deputy Minister for Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov and UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Services, Small Business and Exports Gareth Thomas MP.

The Board discussed the Ukrainian Ministry for Digital Transformation's new strategic plans and objectives, and the UK Government's commitment to Ukraine's recovery. The Board reviewed delivery under the UK-Ukraine TechBridge since January 2024 and noted its successes including the conclusion of the Pilot Investment Accelerator . Discussions also focused on the scope to further refine the programme's delivery and cooperation between the public and private sectors. The core themes of the discussion included:

  • Enhancing communications to improve commercial engagement.
  • Incentivising innovation.
  • Streamlining priorities and delivery of new projects.

The Board will reconvene within the next six months.

The Board meeting coincided with a visit by Ukrainian Deputy Minister Bornyakov to the UK to undertake a series of engagements with TechBridge delivery partners and representatives of the UK tech industry and investor community. The programme of engagements related to the implementation of the UK-Ukraine TechBridge, addressing areas including trade, investment, innovation and skills.
