On March 27, the UNIST Audit Office and the Audit Committee of the National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at UNIST to enhance audit capacities within research institutions.
The agreement aims to elevate the professionalism of audit operations within research institutions and promote information sharing and the exchange of audit techniques. It also encompasses collaborative efforts to improve auditing systems, strengthen internal control frameworks, and foster a culture of integrity.
The signing ceremony was attended by 12 officials, including Auditing Director KwangWoo Lee from UNIST and Chair of the NST Audit Committee Byung-Won Jang. Following this agreement, the two institutions plan to organize joint events, including the exchange of audit professionals, to establish a cooperative network.
The UNIST Audit Office operates various systems to enhance research ethics and audit transparency. The NST Audit Committee has integrated and centralized the auditing functions of research institutes in the field of science and technology. Both institutions are committed to developing audit systems that reflect research priorities and reinforce audit capabilities.
