The Acting Department of Defense Chief Information Officer, Mr.
John Sherman, virtually hosted counterpart Brig.
Gen.
David Neo from the Ministry of Defence of Singapore for the 13th bilateral Command, Control and Communications (C3) Forum.
This was the first C3 Forum for both Mr.
Sherman and Brig.
Gen.
Neo as co-chairs.
The C3 Forum is a part of the strong U.S.- Singapore security partnership in this critical region of the world.
The leaders discussed areas of mutual interest in C3 and cybersecurity.
It was the first time that the C3 Forum had been conducted virtually.
Throughout the many disruptions resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, virtual collaboration tools have allowed robust consultations and information exchange activities under the C3 Forum to continue uninterrupted.
At the conclusion of the event, Mr.
Sherman and Brig.
Gen Neo simultaneously signed, in Washington and Singapore, a new governing C3 Forum Terms of Reference.
The document highlights the desired continuation of mutual exchange of information relating to C3 and cybersecurity.
This forum serves as the primary focal point for the management of exchanges between the U.S.
Department of Defense and the Singapore Ministry of Defence on these issues to facilitate information sharing and coordination.
