Tertiary students in the City of Melton will benefit from increased support for their studies with the opening of a Suburban University Study Hub in Melton.
Djerriwarrh Community & Education Services, in partnership with Melton City Council and Victoria University, has been successful in securing funding from the Australian Government for the Hub which will be located at the Melton Library and Learning Hub.
One of only 10 Suburban University Study Hubs announced nationally, the Hub will provide an invaluable resource for local students undertaking tertiary education from any Australian institution and can be accessed free of charge.
The Hub will offer campus-style study spaces, on-site administrative and academic support, and a range of student support services.
The Australian Government's Suburban University Study Hubs program aims to support students from outer metropolitan areas with low tertiary education participation, who face increased barriers to accessing tertiary study.
There is evidence that the hubs have resulted in increasing the number of people going to university and finishing a university degree.
The Melton Hub, which is scheduled to open in mid-2025.
