Three youths have been apprehended following an incident in which firearms were stolen from a remote police station in Central Australia yesterday.
It is alleged the youths, aged 11, 14 and 16-years-old gained entry into the police accommodation at Kintore and stole keys to the police station on Sunday night.
It is further alleged the youths then unlawfully entered the police station and stole a number of firearms and police accoutrements.
Remote police and Aboriginal Liaison Officers worked with community members to recover all of the firearms and identify the youths, who were taken into police custody yesterday.
Investigations are ongoing with a number of youths assisting police with inquiries.
