Police have charged six teenagers after they were stopped in an allegedly stolen vehicle late last night.
Police will allege the vehicle was stolen from a Manoora residence in the early hours of Friday morning.
The Hyundai station wagon was sighted throughout the day by members of the public before it was seen by police heading north on the Bruce Highway on Friday night.
At 9.45pm a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed on the Bruce Highway at Edmonton. The vehicle turned into Mill Road before stopping on Mount Peter Road.
Six juveniles were arrested nearby.
A 13-year-old Gordonvale boy, a 15-year-old Mooroobool girl, a 13-year-old Manoora boy, a 14-year-old Holloways Beach girl, a 16-year-old Yarrabah girl and a 15-year-old Yarrabah boy have all been charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle. They will all appear in the Cairns Childrens Court at a later date.
