Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehicle Offences, Nerang

Police have charged a man with several offences after a stolen vehicle was tracked on the Gold Coast yesterday afternoon, January 26.

It will be alleged that around 4:50pm, the man gained entry to a Hilldon Court, Nerang business, where they stole a 2016 Toyota Hilux and fled the area in the vehicle.

Emergency services were alerted, and the vehicle was able to be located and tracked by PolAir on Kopps Road at Oxenford a short time later.

Officers continued to track the vehicle for some time before it entered a complex on Siganto Drive, with the man then fleeing the vehicle on foot.

With assistance from the Dog Squad, the man was tracked to Gwydir Court, where he was taken into custody.

The 30-year-old Coomera man has since been charged with two counts of trespass, and one count each of enter premises and commit, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, serious assault police, stealing.

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, January 27.
