Unlawful Wounding, Bushland Beach

Police are investigating an unlawful wounding incident that occurred at a residence on Daintree Drive, Bushland Beach, in the early hours of this morning, May 17.

Around 2.50am, a verbal altercation is believed to have occurred between three people at the address, resulting in two women sustaining stab wounds.

A 43-year-old woman sustained an injury to her hand and is expected to require surgery, while a 38-year-old woman sustained an injury to her shoulder. Both were transported to Townsville University Hospital for treatment.

The third person involved, a female, left the scene prior to police arrival. A search of the area was conducted with the assistance of the Dog Squad; however, she was not located.

Investigations are ongoing, and police urge anyone with information to come forward.
