Unlawful Wounding Charges in Surfers Paradise

A second man has been charged following an alleged wounding in Surfers Paradise early Sunday morning, July 14.

It will be alleged at approximately 2.30am, an altercation occurred between a group of people outside a barber shop along Orchid Avenue, resulting in a 20-year-old Palm Beach man sustaining a stab wound.

The Palm Beach man was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Three people allegedly left the scene in a black Holden Commodore prior to police arrival.

A 23-year-old Augustine Heights man was arrested in Augustine Heights around 10am today, July 15.

He has been charged with one count each of driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and acts intended to maim and is due before Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 16.

Investigations are continuing.
