Unlawful Wounding Charges, Surfers Paradise

Police have charged a 21-year-old man following an alleged wounding incident at Surfers Paradise this morning, July 14.

It will be alleged at approximately 2.30am, an altercation occurred between a group of people outside a barber shop along Orchid Avenue, resulting in a 20-year-old Palm Beach man sustaining a stab wound.

He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Three people allegedly left the scene in a black Holden Commodore prior to police arrival.

The car was located abandoned at 3.10am near Precision Drive and Riechert Drive after it allegedly stuck a parked vehicle.

Three people were taken into police custody nearby a short time later.

A 21-year-old Victorian man has been charged with one count each of commit public nuisance, and acts intended to main.

He was remanded in custody and is due appear at Southport Magistrates Court on Monday, July 15.

A 19-year-old Collingwood Park man and a 17-year-old Redbank Plains boy are continuing to assist police with investigations.
