Unlicensed Driver Crashes Into Police Car in Preston

An unlucky driver is facing several drug, theft and traffic charges after he allegedly clipped the side of an unmarked police vehicle in Preston last week.

It is alleged the unlicensed driver was travelling along Murray Road when he allegedly hit the side mirror of a car with two Merri-bek detectives behind the wheel about 5.50 pm on Wednesday, 19 June.

Officers then intercepted the Toyota van on Murray Road and searched the vehicle.

Police allegedly discovered a small quantity of methylamphetamine and two small bottles of 1,4-Butanediol.

They also uncovered some tools allegedly stolen from a vehicle in Brunswick West on 21 January.

A 43-year-old Broadmeadows man was arrested and has been charged with handle stolen goods, drug offences and unlicensed driving.

He has been bailed to appear at Heidelberg Magistrates' Court on December 20.
