Storm Conall created an acutely unsafe situation in the tent camp on the bridge between the Forum and Orion buildings this evening. The storm blew all sorts of material loose, posing a danger to the surrounding area and passers-by. It was observed that no one had been in the camp for several days. The safety of the campus and its residents is paramount. For this reason, WUR's crisis management team decided to have the items left on the bridge cleaned up.
The clean-up began at around 6.45pm. From 7pm onwards, a number of people, some of whom were wearing clothing that covered their faces, began to obstruct the clean-up. The police were then called. The clean-up continued in the presence of the police. At around 10pm the clean-up was completed and the police left.
