Northern Territory Police are continuing the investigation into the fatal hit & run crash at Nhulunbuy on Sunday morning.
Detectives are continuing to collect and review CCTV footage in and around Nhulunbuy.
Following an appeal for assistance from the public on Monday, police have now identified the owner of the bicycle which was lawfully in the possession of the deceased man at the time of the crash.
Detective Sergeant Jeshua Kelly said, "We are collating a large amount of CCTV from the area and are urging all residents and businesses in Nhulunbuy with CCTV, including in the industrial area, to make contact with police.
"Every small detail counts and if you have CCTV from that night that captures a road, we are interested in reviewing it as soon as possible. We have already received footage of a vehicle driving past the local tip at 1:30am on Sunday and police believe the driver will be able to assist with enquires.
"Detectives from Major Crash investigation Unit are in Nhulunbuy working closely with local police. We will not stop until the driver the vehicle is found.
"We thank the public for their assistance so far and urge the community to help us identify the driver.
