Update 5: Grievous Bodily Harm at Toowoomba

A 75-year-old man has died following an alleged assault at Toowoomba City on February 6.

The man was taken to hospital in a critical condition, where he today died as a result of his injuries.

It will be alleged a 75-year-old North Toowoomba man was waiting at a taxi-rank on Margaret Street at approximately 5pm on February 6 when he was pushed from behind, causing him to fall to the ground, before his backpack was stolen.

The 18-year-old man, 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys who were originally charged with grievous bodily harm are expected to have their charges upgraded following the results of a post-mortem report.

Investigations are ongoing.
