Why the Water at Collingwood Leisure Centre Pool Feels Cooler

In June, we became aware that the temperature of the pool at Collingwood Leisure Centre had increased above our usual standard set point.

To troubleshoot we checked our automated systems, took manual readings, purchased new monitoring equipment and brought in industry consultants to investigate.

The outcome was that the fluctuations in pool temperature were caused by mechanical and software faults in our automated system.

We returned the pool to its standard temperature, which remains consistent throughout the year. This temperature meets industry guidelines for a multipurpose pool and is in line with other leisure centres across Melbourne.

In response to requests from our community, we've raised the pool temperature to ensure the best possible experience for all our visitors. There will be normal fluctuations in temperature due to a series of factors including air temperature, time of day and location within the pool.

We'll continue to monitor the pool temperature to ensure the comfort of our visitors. Thank you for your valuable feedback and patience while we continue to work through this technical issue.
