The National Capital Authority has written to the organiser of the proposed Water Lantern Festival to confirm that the NCA will not provide approval for the event given the lack of information provided by the organiser and instructing them to remove reference to the event - and use of our name and logo - from all online platforms.
The National Capital Authority (NCA) has been made aware of the Commonwealth Coat of Arms being used without authorisation on the Water Lantern Festival website.
The NCA has instructed Water Lantern Festival to immediately remove this from their website, and wishes to clarify that the NCA is not a partner of this privately arranged event.
The NCA has received an application from the Water Lantern Festival organiser, and is in the process of assessing the application - approval has not yet been granted.
The NCA approval provides authorisation for the event to be hosted on NCA managed land.
As a privately arranged event, members of the public are reminded to check the refund or cancellation terms and conditions when considering the purchase of tickets.
