Update On Search For Missing Man - Murrumbidgee River

The coordinated multi-agency search for a man reported missing in the Murrumbidgee River in the state's south has been scaled down.

About 5:15pm on Sunday (3 November 2024), emergency services were called to Middle Beach, Yanco, following reports a 32-year-old man was missing in the Murrumbidgee River.

An extensive multi-agency search for the missing man was conducted involving officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District – with the assistance of NSW Ambulance, SES and the Volunteer Rescue Association – was conducted that night and continued on Monday, Tuesday and today (Wednesday 6 November 2024).

The coordinated multi-agency marine search was suspended at 3pm today; however, Murrumbidgee Police District and VRA boats will continue regular patrols of the area over the coming days.
