The search for missing Methven woman Gaynor Fleet has been suspended.
Gaynor was last seen on the morning of 3 August and an extensive search operation has been carried out since then.
Thanks to information received from members of the public, Gaynor's car was located near the beach in Ashburton on 5 August.
"Our search teams have worked tirelessly to find Gaynor and bring her home to her family," says Constable Emma Milburn.
"Sadly we have now completed searches of all reasonably possible areas where Gaynor could be, without locating her."
"We have spoken to Gaynor's family, and while they are understandably very distressed that Gaynor has not yet been found, they are incredibly grateful for the support they have received since Gaynor went missing."
"Although the search has been suspended, this does not mean that work will cease on trying to locate Gaynor. A missing persons investigation will continue and we are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Gaynor, or who thinks they may have information that might help us establish what has happened to her."
