Police can now advise one person has died following a crash on State Highway 27 near Tirau this morning.
The crash, involving a car and a diesel tanker, was reported to Police at 11.10am.
The driver of the car tragically died at the scene.
The road is expected to remain closed for several hours and motorists are advised to take alternative routes.
