An update has been made to public activity restrictions in South Australia.
The Emergency Management (Public Activities No 8) (COVID-19) Direction 2020 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Public Activities No 9) (COVID-19) Direction 2020. This new Direction comes into effect as of 0001 Saturday 5 September 2020.
The new Direction provides an update to the restrictions currently in place for gatherings and defined public activities in South Australia.
Gathering provisions at weddings and funerals
A gathering of 150 people at a wedding and funeral is now a permitted gathering, providing the density requirements of 1 person per 2 square metres is adhered to.
Purchase and Consumption of food and beverages
Food and beverages are now able to be consumed at a bar providing that there is no food preparation at or adjacent to the bar and patrons are seated.
Food and beverages are able to be consumed at recreational facilities provided the consumption occurs in an area where food is not prepared.
It is acknowledged that many restrictions still apply, but they are critical in dealing with the spread of COVID-19.
