The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 47) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 48) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 3.05pm on Thursday 2 September 2021.
Key changes include:
Commercial Transport and Freight Workers who have been in NSW, ACT or Victoria (Restricted Zone) who are:
Arriving by Road or Rail - Must have evidence of a COVID-19 test in the 72 hours before entering South Australia, or will be directed to undertake a test within 12 hours of entering the state.
Arriving by Air – Must have evidence of a COVID-19 test in the 72 hours before entering South Australia, or will be directed to undertake a test within 12 hours of entering the state.
NOTE: Air crew who enter the airport terminal and therefore are 'landside' are required to show evidence of a COVID-19 test in the 72 hours before entering South Australia, or will be directed to undertake a test within 12 hours of entering the state.
Air crew who remain 'airside' and do not enter the terminal are not required to be processed by SA Police.
Arriving by any other means - Must have evidence of a COVID-19 test in the 72 hours before entering South Australia, or will be directed to undertake a test within 24 hours of entering the state.
For Commercial Transport and Freight Workers coming into South Australia from an Unrestricted Zone (all other states) must produce evidence of a negative COVID-19 test in the 7 days before arrival.
Travellers are able to enter South Australia via the following roads.
New South Wales by road:
- Wentworth-Renmark Road, Calperum Station (outside Renmark)
- Barrier Highway, Oodla Wirra
Victoria by road:
- Sturt Highway, Yamba
- Mallee Highway, Pinnaroo
- Dukes Highway, Wolseley
- High Street, Frances (which terminates at Minimay—Frances Road, Frances)
- Wimmera Highway, Laurie Park
- Edenhope Road, Wrattonbully
- Casterton Road, Penola
- Glenelg Highway, Myora
- Princes Highway, Glenburnie
- Glenelg River Road, Donovans/Nelson
- Wolseley Road—Serviceton North Road, Wolseley
- Derghom Road—Dorodong Road, Penola
- Mingbool Road, Pleasant Park
Other existing requirements remain.
