The Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 60) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Cross Border Travel Associated No 61) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction came into effect at 6:03 pm on Friday, 29 October 2021.
Key changes include:
NSW Cross Border Community Members
* Entry for NSW Cross Border Community Members into SA is now prohibited. With the exception of Cross Border Community Members from Broken Hill LGA or the town of Silverton, NSW (and one carer) are permitted to travel to SA including beyond the cross border corridor solely for emergency health care for the management of conditions where the failure to so quickly and safely will lead to loss of life, loss of limb and permanent disability.
They must have:
- COVID-19 test on day 1,5, & 13.
- Self-quarantine for 14 days.
- Must wear a face mask (covering mouth and nose) at any time that they come into contact with the public for a period of 14 days after their arrival in SA.
- Must produce evidence of having received at least 1 dose of TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine.
* If a SA Cross Border Community Member (from Tikalina, Olary, Manna Hill, Cockburn) has not left the Cross Border Corridor on the NSW side or associated with anyone in a restricted zone they are permitted to travel anywhere within SA without restriction. However, they must produce evidence of having received at least 1 dose of TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine, and produce evidence of a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 7 days of their arrival in South Australia or must be tested within 24 hours of arrival.
Other existing requirements remain.
