Updated Supervised Quarantine Direction, South Australia

The Emergency Management (Supervised Quarantine No 11) (COVID-19) Direction 2021 has been revoked and replaced by the Emergency Management (Supervised Quarantine No 12) (COVID-19) Direction 2021. This Direction comes into effect at 12:01am on 1 January 2022.

Key changes include:

TESTING

People who are employed to work in Supervised Quarantine (Medi-Hotel, Facility or Red Zone) need to:

  • Have a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) each day before starting work for that day
    • If the result of the COVID-19 RAT is positive, then the person needs to have a COVID-19 PCR test and quarantine until negative test result.
  • Produce evidence of having had the COVID-19 RAT, if requested by an authorised officer.

VACCINATION

People who are employed to work in Supervised Quarantine (Medi-Hotel, Facility or Red Zone) need to have a COVID-19 booster shot within 2 weeks of eligibility.

HIGH RISK SETTINGS

Previously, people who are employed to work in Supervised Quarantine (Medi-Hotel, Facility or Red Zone) were prohibited to work in any other High Risk Settings. This requirement has now been removed.
