Rockhampton Regional Council has commenced works to upgrade a section of Stanwell Waroula Road to provide much needed improvements to this vital rural road link.
The project is possible thanks to a $1.7 million investment from the Albanese Labor Government's Remote Roads Upgrade Pilot Program, and a $400,000 contribution from Rockhampton Regional Council.
The $2.1 million project will involve formation widening, pavement overlay and sealing for five kilometres of road, as well as replacing a floodway and widening drainage.
Construction of this crucial upgrade is expected to be completed in August 2024, weather permitting.
