A man in Victoria had his morning toast interrupted by a life-changing phone call, as he learned he had won $2.5 million in the latest Saturday Lotto draw 4475.
The man was in the middle of making toast when a lotto official called to reveal he is a new multi-millionaire.
The Mornington Peninsula local from Capel Sound held one of two division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4475, drawn Saturday 8 June 2024. He looks forward to an exact prize of $2,504,803.55.
“Oh, oh!” he gasped.
“Oh okay! Wow. You’re not kidding right?
“I’ve won $2.5 million? Wow, okay.
“I’ve lost my appetite. I was making some toast, but I think I need to turn the toaster off.
“I’m numb. I don’t know what to feel. I bought this ticket as a one off and I never thought I’d win.
“This is really something. I feel like I’m walking on air.
“I can’t wait to call my daughter and let her know about the news.
“She’s been telling me to upgrade my phone all this time. I’m sure it will be the first thing she’ll tell me to do!
“I do want to organise temporary accommodation to be with my daughter. This will help!
“I am honestly so shocked. What a morning already!
“I’ll finish my breaky and enjoy a celebratory drink later.”
His winning marked System 7 entry was purchased at Capel Sound News & Lotto, 1643 Point Nepean Road, Capel Sound.
Capel Sound News & Lotto owner Sharon Shacklock said her team were shocked and super excited to have sold their first division one winning entry.
“Woohoo! Finally we sold one! We’re just overwhelmed and couldn't be happier for the lucky customer,” she said.
“We’re going to be decorating the shop like crazy and we won’t be forgetting this one for a while.
