Work is under way to improve the intersection of Timor and Kepler streets.
The intersection will have "pedestrian priority" zebra crossings consistent with the roundabouts in Liebig Street where it intersects with Lava and Koroit streets.
The work, expected to be completed in mid-July, is being staged to maximise vehicle access.
Details of the work plan are available via the link to the right.
Council will also upgrade the intersection at Koroit and Kepler streets.
Preliminary, low impact work on Koroit and Kepler streets will begin after the Queen's birthday long weekend while more extensive work will begin in early July.
The Koroit-Kepler intersection will be finished, weather permitting, towards the end of September.,
At each intersection, asphalt for the new road surface will be laid half an intersection at a time (north and south) in order to minimise impact and to allow for continued east-west traffic movement.
The intersections will be closed to traffic intermittently for short periods and works have been staged to keep this to an absolute minimum.
Council appreciates the community's patience and asks that motorists please observe the traffic signals.
Work plans for each intersection upgrade are available at the links to the right.
