At approx. 2120hr Tues. 29/11/16 Police were notified of an upturned vessel off Lauderdale Beach in the vicinity of Bambra Street, Tasmania Police say.
Police, including Marine and Rescue personnel, and with the assistance of local residents commenced a search for the vessel and any occupants. Approximately 50 minutes later, a 54 year old Lauderdale man was located clinging to the hull of his upturned catamaran several hundred metres off Lauderdale Beach. He was returned to the shore uninjured. The catamaran will be retrieved in the morning.
