RSPCA NSW is urgently appealing for public assistance after two horses were found abandoned at a Bargo property earlier this month.
Both horses, a dark bay/brown gelding of unknown breed, approx. 15hh and a bay paint horse mare, with a distinctive white blaze, high white stockings on front legs and high half white stockings on hind legs were found in poor body condition and suffering from several health conditions. It is alleged they were dumped on a private property between the hours of 7 a.m. Saturday 3 February and 9 p.m. 4 February 2024.
An equine veterinarian was immediately contacted to assess the animals. Both horses were deemed fit for travel and were transported to a specialised equine centre where they are still receiving veterinary care.
After extensive inquiries, RSPCA NSW Inspectors would like to talk to the owner of a dark blue horse float with a silver pin stripe who may be able to assist with their investigation.
In addition, RSPCA NSW Inspectors are also encouraging any members of the public who live on Dymond Street, Bargo to check their CCTV cameras for any additional information.
Anyone with information is urged to contact RSPCA NSW at 1300 CRUELTY (1300 278 3589) or online via www.rspcansw.org/reportcruelty.
