U.S. Announces $75 Million Aid Boost for Moldova

Today, the United States, through USAID and the U.S. Department of State, and working with Congress, announced an additional $75 million in development assistance to strengthen vital transportation and logistics infrastructure and enhance cybersecurity capabilities in Moldova. The announcement was made in Chisinau during the fifth ministerial conference of the Moldova Partnership Platform - an event focused on supporting Moldova's accession to the European Union and building international support for Moldova on its EU path.

The additional assistance will accelerate Moldova's infrastructure development and ability to support Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction efforts. The United States remains committed to Moldova's democracy and Euro-Atlantic integration, and will continue to build on previous efforts to secure Moldova's election infrastructure. U.S. assistance has advanced Moldova's reform agenda, EU accession, and resilience in the face of malign influence including through joint efforts to counter disinformation.
