Acting Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jim Kilby met with Chief of the Royal Danish Navy Rear Adm. Soren Kjeldsen for a formal bilateral engagement during the Sea-Air-Space 2025 maritime exposition in National Harbor, Maryland, today.
The two leaders emphasized the strength of military-to-military relationships and discussed future opportunities to strengthen their naval partnership and increase interoperability through the Personnel Exchange Program and through exercises such as BALTOPS.
Kilby thanked Kjeldsen for the Danish Navy's support of U.S. ships and Sailors during the visit of the USS Albany (SSN 753) to the Faroe Islands, and for their support in the North Atlantic and Baltic area with the Nordic Defense Cooperation.
The U.S. and Denmark are founding members of NATO, and the alliance between the two nations is critical to NATO's eastern flank.
