Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov today to discuss battlefield dynamics and U.S. support for Ukraine. Secretary Austin provided an update on U.S. security assistance, noting the scale and speed of our ongoing efforts. The leaders also noted the importance of further strengthening Ukraine's industrial base to meet its defense needs.
The two leaders pledged to remain in close contact.
