U.S.-ROK Ministers Set 2024 Defense Talks

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III will co-host Republic of Korea (ROK) Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Tae-yul and Minister of Defense Kim Yong-hyun on October 31 in Washington, D.C. for the 6th U.S.-Republic of Korea Foreign and Defense Ministerial Meeting (2+2). The 2+2 meeting will build on the commitments made during ROK President Yoon Suk Yeol's official visit to the United States in April 2023 and the historic August 2023 Trilateral Leaders Summit. Secretary Blinken and Secretary Austin look forward to strengthening our cooperation on the full range of global and regional issues and deepening the U.S.-ROK Alliance with their ROK counterparts.
